Kget Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Kget handles information. Kget is an Android app for analysing framework and security information in apps installed on your device.

Information processed on your device

To provide its core functionality, Kget accesses the package name, app name, version, and technical contents of installed apps. APK analysis, security scans, detected frameworks, permissions, and analysis results are processed and stored on your device by default. Kget does not collect the contents of your contacts, messages, photos, or personal files.

Optional community contribution

If you explicitly enable the optional Contribute feature, Kget sends the package name, app name, and detected frameworks of installed apps to a shared framework database in Firebase Firestore. This feature is off by default and can be turned off at any time in the app.

For this feature, Firebase Anonymous Authentication may create an anonymous user identifier to associate contributions with an installation and help prevent abuse. Kget does not send app usage data, APK files, contacts, or file contents through this feature.

Optional CVE lookup

If you enable CVE lookup (OSV.dev) in the Security screen, only the names and versions of detected libraries are sent to OSV.dev. The app package name, security findings, and device-specific information are not included in this request. This option is off by default.

Advertising

Kget uses Google AdMob to display ads. Depending on your advertising personalisation settings, AdMob and Google may process information such as device identifiers, IP address, and app interactions for ad delivery, fraud prevention, measurement, and personalisation. APK backups

If you use the APK backup feature, Kget saves a local copy of the selected app's installed APK files to the location you choose. Kget does not upload, download, install, modify, or update APK files.

Data sharing and retention

Kget does not share your analysis data with third parties except for the optional community contribution and OSV.dev lookup described above. When community contribution is enabled, package names, app names, and framework information are stored using Firebase/Google infrastructure. Local analysis results can be removed by uninstalling the app or clearing its data.

Your choices and rights

You can turn off community contribution and the OSV.dev CVE lookup in the relevant in-app settings. You can delete locally stored data through Android Settings > Apps > Kget > Storage > Clear data. For requests concerning community contribution data, contact us using the email address below.

Children's privacy

Kget is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app or applicable legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page and the date at the top will be updated.
